Relief Org on World Sustainable Energy Day

Relief Org

Can you imagine a world without transportation, gas for cooking, or electricity? All of them are now unavoidable necessities. Fossil fuels are what lie behind them. They are the only thing we have in common, and they have the power to return us to prehistoric times. Relief Org on World Sustainable Energy Day shares all the details of its importance and theme.

Energy is an important source of human life; the existence of humans is impossible without an energy source. There are numerous forms of energy. We all use energy on a daily basis. Sustainable energy is also known as renewable energy. Some forms of energy are immediately available, while others must be modified.

In the modern era, we are all moving towards changing our lifestyles and becoming more environmentally friendly. Sustainable energy is the best source of energy and is eco-friendly as well. It doesn’t give rise to carbon dioxide emissions that are harmful to the environment. A country that can produce energy itself can lead to the development of a nation. This, as a result, helps in the rise of human index development as well.

The efficiency of a nation is depending on the self reliant production of energy. The demand for energy is not something new it is quite old. However, the demand for energy from last decade increased. This is due to much advancement in technologies, there is huge exploitation of fossil fuels.

Relief Org on History of World Sustainable Energy Day

The crises of energy are quite prevalent since the time of independence due to heavy demand for energy. From ages, Indian economy was based on agrarian and after PPP model shifted to industrialization. Due to this, it leads to increase in demand for energy that automatically leads to burden on nation. Relief Org will highlight all the issue.

The first World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED) were held in Austria, and they are an annual gathering for sustainability. It holds seminars in the creation of sustainable energy, as well as energy-saving and efficient building, business, and transportation options. Since 1992, experts and judgment from every continent have descended upon Upper Austria for the conferences, which annually draw 900–1,000 participants from 55–60 nationalities.

India Dependency on Sustainable Energy

India has a sizable amount of non-conventional energy resources, but it has always been reliant on them. This was due to India’s lack of technology to utilise these resources. Nevertheless, with the 1991 shift in economic policies, this scenario completely changed. Sustainable energy is the best way to meet rural India’s demand. People in rural areas, as well as those in urban areas, meet their energy needs using conventional methods.

This causes hazardous health issues for the people as they emit unhealthy substances into the air, such as greenhouse gases. Aside from that, using conventional sources of energy will replenish after a while because they are limited in nature, so preserving them is preferable. In India, conventional or non-renewable energy sources meet 80% of the needs.

As India finally realised its potential and began utilising sustainable resources. It has the world’s third largest and fastest-growing economy. It is targeting a shift to sustainable resources. By 2030, India intends to have 500 GW of renewable energy capacity.

In comparison, India ranks fourth in the world in terms of renewable energy installation. It is now focusing on green hydrogen as an alternative for black hydrogen, which transform from coal. Green hydrogen  generated from biomass, water, and organic waste. It has enormous potential for generating green hydrogen. India will achieve 25 GW of green hydrogen electrolysis by 2028

Some Facts from Economic Survey

According to an economic survey, the use of renewable energy has increased electricity protection and power plant installation by 4.7%.

The Economic Survey presented to Parliament predicts that by the end of 2029–2030, installed capacity would likely be over 800 gigatonnes (GW), with non-fossil fuels accounting for more than 500 GW, or almost 62% of the cumulative installed capacity at that time.

  • At the most recent COP 27, India amended its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) by increasing its goal of additional non-fossil fuel electrical generation before 2030 to 50%.
  • The Economic Survey presented to Parliament predicts that by the end of 2029–2030, capacity factor will likely be over 800 GW,
  • Non-fossil fuels accounting for more than 500 GW, or almost 62% of the cumulative installed capacity at that time.

World Sustainable Energy Day Importance

The nation’s natural resources are also preserved with the help of renewable energy. Reliable energy sources and fuel diversification offered by renewable energy, improve energy security, lessen the likelihood of fuel leaks, and cut down on the requirement for imported fuels.

The Energies Parmesan, an exposition and trade show focused on renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, is held concurrently with the World Sustainable Energy Days.

Approximately 100,000 people attend, and about 1,000 businesses display there. The regional energy organization in Upper Austria, Energiesparver band, organizes the World Sustainable Energy Days.

In order to create an intelligent, socially just, and long-term energy system, it will be necessary to have strict rules, aggressive businesses, and technical innovation. The viability of the global transition to renewable energies and the development of a thriving economy will depend critically on our capacity to comprehend the technological shift in energy and structures.

The ambitious aim of becoming the first continent to be environmentally neutral by 2050 belongs to Europe. The first tangible steps are the Green Deal and the EU Climate Law. Aside from providing a chance to accelerate transition to a low carbon and build a society and successful economy, the current economic difficulties also offer a chance.

World Sustainable Energy Day Theme

Every year a theme decided to celebrate the day with an objective. Relief Org highlighting themes.

2023- Energy Transition = Energy Security!

2022- Energy Transition = Full Speed Ahead!

This year it will celebrate from 28 February – 3 March 2023 in Wels/Austria.

Relief Org will conclude the blog with a quote of Dennis Kucinch, It is time for sustainable energy policy which puts consumers, the environment, human health and Peace first.
